The Grand Theft Auto series is one of the most successful video game sagas ever.
The original GTA was released in 1997 and the last entry to the series was the hugely successful GTA V, which was released all the way back in 2013.
Some nine years and many re-releases later and GTA V remains a top seller for gamers around the world.

In a post for Rockstar games blog Newswire, the company wrote: “With the unprecedented longevity of GTA V, we know many of you have been asking us about a new entry in the Grand Theft Auto series.
"With every new project we embark on, our goal is always to significantly move beyond what we have previously delivered — and we are pleased to confirm that active development for the next entry in the Grand Theft Auto series is well underway.
"We look forward to sharing more as soon as we are ready, so please stay tuned to the Rockstar Newswire for official details.”
Sadly, Rockstar hasn't given us a confirmed release date or really any information since that update.
What will the game's plot be about?
While there hasn’t been any official news in months, there have been some rumours about what could be in the sixth game in the series.

One post from RapTV suggested that GTA 6 was going to 'take place in Colombia/Miami and could be here as soon as 2023'.
Another post from Watcher.Guru claimed that the GTA 6 'will include in-game cryptocurrency rewards for players to earn and trade'.
But it must be said: Rockstar’s track record with past game releases isn’t very quick, so temper your hopes for GTA 6 to arrive as early as 2023. Fingers crossed though!
