It's been 11 long years in waiting, but we finally know when the most anticipated game on the planet will arrive.
Gamers have been massively hyped by the trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI that landed last December, following years of speculation and a huge leak beforehand. Watch it here:
There had been rumour of delays into 2026 but Take Two Interactive has said fall 2025 is when we'll see the game arrive in a recent earnings call.

The CEO of Take Two, the company who owns Rockstar, Strauss Zelnick told IGN: "We do feel highly confident that we'll deliver [Grand Theft Auto VI] in fall of 2025."
It's not an exact release date but it gives fans a release window to cling onto and possibly a chance to save, with rumours the game could cost upwards of £120 ($150).
Aside from the trailer, information is tight but what we do know is the game will be set in a world based on Florida named Leonida, led by a female character called Lucia and an unnamed male - understood to be Jason.

Billed as a Bonnie and Clyde kind of relationship, the pair go to town in Vice City, shown robbing a store at one point in the trailer.
It will be available on Xbox Series X and S, and PlayStation 5. However, as yet, there's been no mention of PC compatibility, so we'll have to wait on that.
But while details do remain scarce, and fans cling onto the hope of no further delays, the internet has done its work to pick out some tasty looking details from the trailer.

Rockstar seemingly took inspiration from real life events. Take 'Florida Joker' - real name Lawrence Sullivan - who bizarrely makes an appearance... or at least someone who looks an awful lot like him.
And then there's Weazel News - inspired by Fox - that mocks the Florida Man meme with one of its stories about a 'Leonida man' who got sucked into a water spout.
This suggests rolling 24-hour news channels will cover everything that happens in the city, as it unfolds, maybe adding another angle to missions and all-round storyline, potentially?

Either way, fans will hope this will end the swirling rumours of delays to 2026 after initial, and - let's be honest - optimistic murmurs that the game would drop much earlier than that at the start of 2025.
More than 15 months, at least, is a long time to wait in gaming years but it looks like you'll have it in time for next Christmas.
