Urban released his self-titled Australian debut album in 1990 and his American debut in 1999.
The latter was led by the number 18 single 'It's a Love Thing', followed by the number four single 'Your Everything', which made him the first male New Zealand artist to reach the Top 10 on the US country charts.
No stranger to public recognition, Urban has won four Grammy Awards, 15 Academy of Country Music Awards, and six ARIA Music Awards.
He also wrote and performed 'For You' for the film Act of Valor, which earned him Best Original Song nominations at both the 70th Golden Globe Awards and the 18th Critics' Choice Awards.

At the time of writing Urban is on a world tour for his 11th studio album, The Speed of Now Part 1, which was released 2020.
Although Urban appears to have enjoyed consistent success early into his career, he said in an interview with ABC News that he hasn't forgotten what it was like to be a struggling artist.
"I always felt like, 'What I'm trying to do is just around the corner,' and they just kept moving the corner," he explained.
"But it was always just there, and so I just sort of [kept following] the dangling carrot...I just kept going and eventually they stopped moving the corner."

Befitting his massive success today, Urban's real estate portfolio with wife Nicole Kidman is seriously impressive.
One of their first purchases in 2008 and their primary home today is a $3.47 million mansion in Nashville; that same year the couple bought a $4.7 million home in Beverly Hills.
In New York City, they own a $3.5 million pied-à-terre, a $10 million luxury apartment and a $4.85 million penthouse.
In the couple's native Australia, they own a $4 million farm in New South Wales and a $4.6 million penthouse apartment in Sydney.
