Kim Kardashian is worth a reported $1.4 billion. So, where does this money come from and how has she acquired her wealth?
Her current salary stands at $80 million per year. This can be attributed to licensing and endorsement deals such as the royalties accrued from the mobile game: Kim Kardashian: Hollywood.
The game was established in 2014 and was incredibly successful. In the year of its launch it made reported profits of $43 million. Not bad for a reality TV star.

Other sources of income include paid Instagram sponsorships which have been controversial at times. The activist and actress Jameela Jamil has criticised the Kardashian’s insensitive promotion of products — namely products like ‘fit teas', due to their harmful and negative impact on body image and health.
Yet Kim stands by her perhaps questionable taste in sponsorship promotions. In an interview with the New York Times she stated that “you’re going to get backlash for almost everything so long as you like it or believe in it or it’s worth it financially, whatever your decision may be, as long as you’re O.K with that”. And for Kim, financially it is almost always worth it. Kim usually receives at least a six figure sum for a single sponsored Instagram post. But there is speculation that this figure is actually a lot more.
It is also fair to say that Kim is a bit of an entrepreneur. Aside from her various endorsement deals, her foray into gaming, and star appearances in Keeping Up with the Kardashians — she also has a very lucrative business empire. Kim has equity stakes in some very successful businesses, such as KKW Beauty, a direct-to-consumer beauty product line and Skims, a shapewear company.
