Chris Hemsworth has just wrapped filming Extraction 2 and we can't wait to see how the sequel plays out.
The 38-year-old actor shared a new set video over the weekend that revealed the highly anticipated followup has finally finished production.
The Aussie star took to his Instagram, surrounded by the rest of the cast and crew, and thanked everyone for working through intense conditions and turbulent weather.
He wrote: "That's a wrap ! Another Extraction film down. Shaping up to be an epic franchise which has only been possible with the blood, sweet, tears and passion of our amazing cast and crew.
Massive thankful to everyone who's been with us through this journey and cheers to many more, much love team. Can't wait for you all to see this one!"
According to The Daily Mail, Extraction 2 began filming in Prague in September 2021 after initially being scheduled to start principal photography in Australia; however, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, production was forced to move its shooting location.
Hemsworth has continued to document the tumultuous shoot and his gruelling workout routine as he stepped back into the role of black-ops mercenary Tyler Rake.
In one video, Hemsworth was seen on-location filming a fight sequence where numerous stunt performers were on fire.
Hemsworth jokingly said in the video: "Are they meant to be on fire?"
The stunt work is definitely going to be a highlight of Extraction 2, as action thriller film's director Sam Hargrave is a stunt coordinator himself.
Hargrave and Hemsworth have previously worked together on multiple films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The first Extraction film became one of Netflix's most-streamed movies in its history. So it was a surprise to no one when a sequel was greenlit in April 2020.
However, this wasn't the only Marvel reunion on set, as the film's screenplay writer, Joe Russo, also directed Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame.
Little is known about the Extraction sequel's premise, however we know the film is based on the graphic novel Ciudad, which Russo wrote, alongside his brother Anthony Russo, Ande Parks, Fernando León González, and Eric Skillman.
No release date has been announced, but Extraction 2 is expected to drop later this year.
