Lewis Capaldi has wasted no time in making the most of Mo Gilligan's mishap at the Brit Awards.
The Scot was about to perform at the awards when presenter Gilligan introduced him as... Sam Capaldi.
Check it out here:
Capaldi knocked out his performance like a pro, and when he finished, Gilligan acknowledged his error.

"It just goes to show how strong the drinks are at the Brits," he said.
"They're not playing around."
However, Gilligan should have known that Capaldi would already be concocting his response, which he's wasted no time in posting.
Here it is in all its glory:
If this photoshop job means absolutely nothing to you, that is Capaldi's head atop of Sam Smith's distinctive red carpet get-up. Hence, Sam Capaldi.

And you can guess who that outfit didn't go down well with - that's right, Piers Morgan.
Taking to Twitter, Morgan shared an image of the singer on the red carpet at the awards.
Smith's outfit was comprised of an inflatable black jumpsuit with huge shoulder pads, sky-high heels and matching black gloves, pairing the outfit with pearl earrings and spiked up hair.
Morgan's caption read: "Methinks 'they' is getting a teeny weeny bit over-thirsty for attention. #BRITs."

While many others were similarly unconvinced by the bold outfit choice, many were quick to leap to the singer's defence.
One wrote: "Flamboyance and music is not new. Piers is acting like a 'get off my lawn' type presuming that Sam Smith is the first to do this. See 'exhibit Elton' (plus countless others)."
"Obsessed with Piers Morgan biting as if Sam Smith is wearing this to fly under the radar," another commented.

A third said: "I don't even care for Sam Smith but the Piers Morgan & co lot get SOOOOOO wound up by them I cant help but STAN. It’s like Gemma Collins, like ur mad… for what? For them just… existing???"
Others were also quick to call out Morgan for putting Smith's chosen pronouns in quotation marks.
One wrote: "Methinks putting they in quotes is a disgusting attempt to take someone’s identity away. They are a pop star, almost every pop star dresses more extravagantly. You wouldn’t complain about a cis person doing it, so why is a non binary person unworthy of respect to you?"
And another added: "I think they look ridiculous, saying that isn't the issue. The issue is the quotes around 'they' as it suggests that his gender identity isn’t valid."
