In his announcement on Twitter, Capaldi gave fans a short 30-second preview on the new song, and they are loving it.
To hype it up even more Capaldi went to London's St Pancras International train station to perform 'Pointless' on a piano in front of shocked commuters.
In a video uploaded to the Official UK Charts TikTok account, you can see Capaldi performing his new single, with onlookers recording on their phone.
Alongside performing his new track on the piano, Capaldi is also seen in the video on the outskirts of the station handing out flyers advertising his new single like he is recruiting for a five-a-side football team.

The musician is also seen at crossing surrounded by a few people when he is asked by the camera operator whether they know 'they are in the presence of the king of streaming', in which Capaldi replied 'I don't think they have got a clue'.
We know from a video uploaded by the man himself to his official TikTok account that a 'little girl' was on the piano before he performed.
In the video, Capaldi goes up to the young girl, shakes her hand, and compliments her on how she plays the piano.
