Lionel Richie, 72, is an American singer-songwriter who has had a hugely successful career since he rose to fame in the late 1960s.
Richie initially found fame as lead singer of the Commodores, with hits such as ‘Three Times a Lady’ and ‘Easy’.
Although Richie left the immensely successful Commodores and launched a solo career in 1982 this did not diminish his starpower and, as a solo artist, he went on to reach even greater heights.

This vast wealth has been acquired due to the enormous success of his albums, and because of his hugely profitable world tours which continue to this day.
Richie has also achieved immense success due to his appearances as a judge on American Idol. It was announced by NBC in 2017 that Richie would be joining American Idol for its 16th season and he reportedly earned $10 million for his first season on the show.
Richie owns a 28 room house in Bel-Air, a location where the likes of Beyonce, Elon Musk and Jennifer Aniston also live. The 17,000 sq ft. home was purchased by Richie for $6 million in 1999 and is now worth $11.4 million.
With this vast wealth and a house which has nearly doubled in value since it was purchased, the 72 year old Richie must be pretty satisfied with the way things have turned out, he’ll be dancing on the ceiling well into his old age.
