Love Island contestants have never been short of famous relatives - and this year is no different. It’s always something the Islander wants everyone to know without making it obvious that they want everyone to know…don’t worry we’ve got you sussed!
The media quickly picked up on the fact that one contestant, Gemma Owen, had a famous dad, ex-England football player Michael Owen, but it seems as though another of the islanders was a little quieter about their famous parent, and this one went under the radar, until now of course!
So who is Liam Llewellyn, and who is his Dad?

It has been spotted that 22 year-old Love Islander Liam Llewellyn, from Newport in South Wales, also has a famously athletic dad too, former Wales International Rugby Union player, David Llewelyn.
Speaking on Heart Radio earlier today, he commented on the situation currently going down in the villa between his son Liam and contestant Gemma saying: “He’s just a gem. He’s such a kind-hearted soul. He’d light up any room in the world.”
When asked about Gemma’s dad, Michael Owen, he claimed: “He’s a footballer, I’m a rugby player, I hope he doesn’t fall over when I shake his hand”, I think it’s safe to say David’s not a fan…don’t you?
Gemma, just 19 years-old entering the villa, has faced criticism on Twitter during the first week of the show, with relentless fans claiming that she is rude. One stated: “Every time Gemma opens her mouth I feel an unspeakable amount of rage #loveisland”.

Liam, on the other hand, has found a lot of support on Twitter, after he was made single last night on the show, with Italian bombshell Davide stealing his girl.
Liam’s dad was appreciative of the support being shown to his son, and commented “whether he wins or not he’s a true gentleman and he’s coming across lovely, he’s a top young man.”
Two new bombshells are set to enter the villa tonight, and whatever happens this season, we know for sure that there will not be a shortage of drama!
