Machine Gun Kelly has been criticised for attending a premiere wearing a syringe earring, with social media users saying it sends out the ‘wrong message’ about drug use.
MGK – whose real name is Colson Baker – was at the Tribeca Film Festival for the premiere of his new film Taurus, having rocked up on the red carpet with partner Megan Fox.
In his right ear, he wore an earring that had a syringe dangling from it – filled with a red blood-like substance.

Someone else said: “And you have all these people that look up to you that’s not a good way to be a leader go do something with your life, something serious just why.”
Others expressed concern over the associations with drug use, commenting: “With drug overdoses and deaths at the highest numbers they have ever been, my son being one 2 years ago... died a very strong man at 26. Kind of disgusting ‘fashion’ statement!!! I am sooo sick to my stomach!!!!! Honestly, this is just NOT okay!!! Drug Addiction Matters!!!!!!”
Another added: “People are dying of drugs and overdoses. Wrong message especially for the young fan crowd he has. I feel sorry and a lot of pain for every parent loosing their child to drugs. Hopefully his career comes to an end sending these wrong signals! [sic]”

When Fox got engaged to MGK, she announced the news with a video of the moment he proposed – explaining in the caption how she said yes and then casually dropped in the fact they ‘drank each other's blood’.
In a recent interview with Glamour, Fox explained: "I guess to drink each other’s blood might mislead people or people are imagining us with goblets and we’re like Game of Thrones, drinking each other’s blood.
“It’s just a few drops, but yes, we do consume each other’s blood on occasion for ritual purposes only.
"I’m much more controlled. I read tarot cards and I’m into astrology and I’m doing all these metaphysical practices and meditations. And I do rituals on new moons and full moons, and all these things.

"And so, when I do it, it’s a passage or it is used for a reason. And it is controlled where it’s like, ‘Let’s shed a few drops of blood and each drink it.’
"He’s much more haphazard and hectic and chaotic, where he’s willing to just cut his chest open with broken glass and be like, ‘Take my soul'."
