Aston Merrygold has broken his silence after frightening footage saw him fluffing a backflip and crashing down onto the stage.
Music fans flocked to the Utilita Arena in Sheffield this weekend to watch Merrygold, 35, as well as Ortisé Williams, JB Gill, and upcoming I'm a Celeb campmate Marvin Humes take to the stage as JLS for the final time in 2023.
However, Saturday night’s show took a turn when the ‘Eyes Wide Shut’ singer stepped up to perform a backflip and ended up slipping over.

It appears that after readying himself to perform the stunt, Merrygold lost his footing and ended up on his back.
After witnessing the slip, Williams, 36, quickly checked in with the singer before the quartet carried on with their performance.

Following the Sheffield show, the former X Factor contestant took to TikTok to respond to his tragic tumble.
Posting to his 864,900 followers, the star duetted a previously-posted video, which saw him successfully pulling off the signature stunt during an earlier show on the tour.
The original video was posted on November 1 and featured the overlay text: “Imagine falling over in front of 10,000 people.”

Duetting the original video, Merrygold covered his face with his hands and included overlay text which read: “This aged well tonight.”
Fans have since come out in their droves to wish the 35-year-old well and congratulate him on continuing the show like a trooper.
One TikTok user said: “Really hope you're OK Aston, you're lucky, you could have really hurt yourself (yes this is a mom talking).”
A second commented: “Are you alright Ast? Just seen you at Sheffield and you fell at the beginning, I think you fell onto your head/neck? BTW you guys was amazing tonight.”

A fourth viewer joked that he ‘took the words ‘I can be the dance floor’ a bit literal’.

Saturday’s show was Humes’ last live performance before he's rumoured to enter the I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here jungle.
According to The Sun, the 38-year-old is expected to appear as a campmate on the 23rd series of the show.
He is rumoured to be joined by Nigel Farage, This Morning’s Josie Gibson and Britney Spears’ sister Jamie Lynn Spears.
Elsewhere, champion boxer Tony Bellew, First Dates star Fred Sirieix, and Made In Chelsea’s Sam Thompson are also expected to be heading Down Under
