Reading Festival has issued an apology to Lana Del Rey fans after saying they cut her set short.
She was the penultimate act on the main stage last night (24 August) before Fred Again.. closed out the night's entertainment, but there were some unhappy fans who wished she'd been able to get through everything.
Some fans had grumbled that Del Rey had arrived late, while others were annoyed that the singer was at times drowned out by some techno music on another stage.

In the end, she got through over a dozen songs and said she might be able to sing a couple more.
However, she was soon cut off and ended up sitting on the stage to watch the fireworks before walking off.
Some fans blamed Del Rey, others blamed the festival organisers and there was a general sense that the show didn't quite go to plan.

Now, an apology has been put out by Reading Festival saying sorry for the way things went with Del Rey's show.
In their Instagram Stories the festival organisers wrote: "Due to an error by the Reading production team we accidentally cut Lana Del Rey's incredible set short by 5 mins, we apologise unreservedly to Lana and her fans."
The festival can't have failed to notice the negative feedback, their comments were full of people turning their unhappiness into words.
Tonight (25 August) is a chance for a bit of a do-over in a certain sense, as the Reading and Leeds festivals are organised together and plenty of performers will make an appearance at both, including Lana Del Rey.

She'll be performing on the main stage in Leeds tonight and her fans will be hoping they get to see the full set this time with nothing cut for time or drowned out due to sound issues.
There were plenty of fans who were willing to look beyond those problems and say that she gave a 'f**king majestic' performance despite the difficulties.
They said she'd been 'absolutely fantastic', but recommended that perhaps next time a festival doesn't put a big act on their main stage somewhere they can be overshadowed by techno music.

There were some who were less than happy with Del Rey herself for 'turning up late then getting cut off', but tonight is a chance to give another glut of festivalgoers the show they've all been hoping for.
Maybe second time's the charm.
