Rap star Kendrick Lamar is set to headline the Super Bowl half-time show in 2025.

The NFL, Apple Music and Roc Nation have just announced the 'Not Like Us' rapper will lead the legendary show on 9 February at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans.

Lamar has took to the Super Bowl stage before, having performed as a guest artist with Dr Dre and Snoop Dogg back in 2022.

And he's of course collaborated with a long list of artists, regularly featuring on fellow Super Bowl headliner Beyoncé's albums, as well as the likes of A$AP Rocky, Taylor Swift and Big Sean.

“Rap music is still the most impactful genre to date,” he said in a statement. “And I’ll be there to remind the world why. They got the right one.”

Since releasing his debut album in 2011, Lamar has had huge success. In 2018, the album DAMN made him the first non-classical, non-jazz musician to win a Pulitzer Prize.

Of course, his most recent drops were part of his diss feud with Drake as many fans argued the 'All the Stars' artist came out on top.

And, well, only one of them is set to headline the legendary Super Bowl. Fans on X even said Lamar performing 'Not Like Us' during the half time show 'might be the greatest diss of all time'.

Roc Nation founder Jay-Z called Lamar a 'once-in-a-generation' artist and performer.

“His deep love for hip-hop and culture informs his artistic vision,” Jay-Z said. “He has an unparalleled ability to define and influence culture globally. Kendrick’s work transcends music, and his impact will be felt for years to come.”

Roc Nation and Emmy-winning producer Jesse Collins will serve as co-executive producers of the halftime show. The creative direction of Lamar’s performance will be provided by pgLang.

Fans on X said they've 'dreamed of times like this' as another wrote: "YESSSSSS! King Kendrick is taking the Super Bowl stage! Can't wait to see him bring his thought-provoking lyrics, infectious beats, and unforgettable energy to the world's biggest stage! It's going to be a performance for the ages."
