Glastonbury viewers were left baffled by SZAâs weird âspecial guestâ as she got âone of the lowest headline crowdsâ.
After Dua Lipa brought out Tame Impalaâs Kevin Parker on Friday (28 June) and Coldplay had the likes of Little Simz and legend Michael J Fox, the American singer had something a little more unique join her on the Pyramid Stage.
The Grammy-winning hit maker headlined the final coveted Glastonbury slot last night but fans were disappointed by a noticeably smaller audience for her set.

SZA performed hits like âI Hate Uâ and âKiss Me Moreâ as well as brandishing machetes for her banger âKill Billâ and climbing up a large fallen tree trunk before âRich Baby Daddyâ - her collab with Drake and Sexyy Red.
But for her ballad âDrew Barrymoreâ she took the fantastical and nature theme of her set a little further.

The 34-year-old had only performed with this set once before (the previous night at Londonâs BST Hyde Park) and it featured a huge insect.

Yep, a giant ant joined her up on stage at Glastonbury - like the kind of thing you might see at the zoo and sit on for an obligatory photo.
And SZA even sat on herâs too as she sang the track which fans on X said they were âlovingâ.
One joked: âThe ant from Honey I Shrunk the Kids is looking well.â
Another wrote: âWhen youâve been clearing the garden path of ants in the afternoon.â

Someone even commented: âSZA on that ant makes me want to be an ant,â while others called it âweirdâ.
Many fans simply called her âthe ant queenâ and said: âThe giant ant. Oh sheâs TAKING IT.â

Following her impressive set at Glastonbury which fans called a âMFin SHOWâ and âamazingâ, SZA wrote on Instagram: âTonight I faced my fears. Tonight my entire team made the impossible possible!!â

Moments before her performance began, viewers at home noted that she had drawn âone of the lowestâ crowds they had âever seen for a Pyramid Headlinerâ.
Users on Reddit and X said itâs âquite a big differenceâ to last year as they called it âa shameâ as many festival-goers had left early to beat the traffic home.
One user speculated: âShe is one of the most streamed artists in the world and is amazing, but didnât quite have the universal appeal of a pyramid headliner yet.â
Well, hereâs to another year of Glastonbury completed - ants and all.
