Netflix has dropped the trailer for its new Bird Box spinoff.
The original movie, which landed back in 2018, focused on the outbreak of some bizarre condition that was forcing people to take their own lives in all manner of grim ways.
Set in the US, it starred Sandra Bullock as a mother-of-two who has to fight for survival in an increasingly dangerous world.

The drama, which was directed by Susanne Bier, was based on a 2014 novel by Josh Malerman.
Unsurprisingly, Bird Box Barcelona follows what happens after the outbreak hits Europe.
The synopsis reads: “After a mysterious force decimates the world’s population, Sebastian must navigate his own survival journey through the desolate streets of Barcelona.

"As he forms uneasy alliances with other survivors and they try to escape the city, an unexpected and even more sinister threat grows."
The Spanish-language release was written and directed by Alex and David Pastor.
It stars Mario Casas, Georgina Campbell, Diego Calva, Alejandra Howard, Naila Schuberth, Patrick Criado, Celia Freijeiro with Lola Dueñas, Gonzalo de Castro, Michelle Jenner and Leonardo Sbaraglia.
And if it's anything like the first, viewers will be watching from behind their cushions.

Fans were full of praise for the flick, with Bullock lauded for her incredible performance.
"Bird Box gave me heart attacks YES ATTACKS WITH AN S," wrote one at the time.
Another commented: "Bird Box on Netflix was such a scary movie omg I would literally be the first to die if that was a real thing lmao."
"It [Bird Box] is f**king amazing. Sandra Bullock literally made me forget it was a movie," put a third.

While another added: "Omg I just finished today. Sandra Bullock killed it. So amazing. The end is so beautiful."
Back in 2020, over a year after the success of the movie, author Malerman wrote the sequel, titled Malorie, after the story's main character, played by Bullock in the film.
Announcing the novel prior to its publication, he said: "I can't say much, but I can say that it is in development. Sometimes it's weird, all this secrecy, but I'm game."

Adding: "Malorie opens at the school for the blind, which is where the movie ends. Then it jumps a few years later, and it really takes off 10 years after that."
So there could be another on the way still.
Bird Box Barcelona is set to land on our screens on 14 July.
