The Gentlemen viewers think unanswered plot is huge sign there will be a season 2

The Gentlemen viewers think unanswered plot is huge sign there will be a season 2

The actors even had their say on it

After dropping a whole load of bangers since the year began, Netflix has done it again with its latest drop.

Last Thursday (7 March) the new The Gentlemen series landed, and it’s been an absolute hit with fans.

A spin-off of Guy Ritchie’s 2019 movie, it stars Theo James in the lead role of Eddie Horniman.

The bloke finds himself getting a taste for the world of underground crime when he inherits his dad’s mega country estate - and consequently, landing in the cannabis empire.

With just eight episodes in the series, plenty of Netflix viewers have already binged the lot and are now hoping for a second season of The Gentlemen.

And they’re convinced there will be because they reckon there’s an unanswered part to the plot.

Alongside the likes of Vinnie Jones and Giancarlo Esposito, the series also features Kaya Scodelario as Susie Glass with many viewers left feeling old as they recognise her from Skins.

Susie is the daughter of Bobby (Ray Winstone) who runs the weed empire and eventually forms a business partnership with Eddie.

But some viewers reckon the pair should have gotten together romantically, hoping for that to develop in a second season.

One wrote on X: “We better get Susie and Eddie as a crime empire power couple in s2, there is defos hinting towards something going on between them rn, they’d eat so bad.”

Another echoed: “Just finished The Gentlemen. It's a fun ride, but I hope they end this series with Eddie and Susie kissing. Season 2??”

Someone else said: “We deserve eddiesusie as a powercouple mega masterminds killing it in season 2.”

But others do seem happy enough with them as a ‘crime power duo’.

James and Scodelario spoke to the LA Times about the chemistry between the characters as James said:"I think you lose the chemistry and you cheapen it the moment you have them."

“Bonk for the sake of it,” Scodelario interrupted.

The White Lotus star said he reckoned at some point it was going to happen but the pair were like ‘no thank you’.

Scodelario added: “It’s also realistic. They’re busy. There’s stuff going on all the time, and it’s really intense s*** that they’re going through together. It wouldn’t fit in this world - sex isn’t funny.

“This is a comedy, and the humour comes from the high stakes and the journey the characters are on.”

And hey, not every dynamic between a man and woman has to be romantic you know. As the actors said, there’s already a lot going on in this show to make an exciting story.

LADbible has contacted Netflix for comment.
