Netflix was forced to change the name of its new movie starring Zac Efron and Nicole Kidman.

The rom-com dropped on the streaming platform at the end of last month - but it once had a very different title.

The movie sees Efron play demanding film star Chris Cole, alongside Nicole Kidman who plays his love interest, Brooke Harwood.

Brooke has a daughter - 24-year-old Zara (Joey King) - who also happens to be Chris' assistant.

Naturally, things get pretty awkward after Zara finds them in bed together and begs her mum to end things.

Now, the stars of the film - called A Family Affair - have revealed that it once had a different name, explaining that Netflix had to switch it up before it was released.

“Originally, it had a different title,” Kidman told People.

Efron added: “It was called Motherf****r.”

Although it kind of makes sense, considering the plot, Kidman explained it didn't make it to the final cut.

“Beeped out. Somehow that didn’t make it onto the Netflix title," she added.

Efron said: “That made the script stay at the top of the pile. It’s like, what on Earth could this be about?”

The pair went on to explain that they jumped at the chance to star in a movie together, after previously working alongside each other in The Paperboy back in 2012.

"I jumped. I think we both kind of did. We jumped at it," said Efron.

"It was like, this is perfect. What better way to reconnect? And we get to have fun."

However, some fans watching A Family Affair said they were 'distracted' over Efron's looks, with a few even suggesting he had had plastic surgery.

One person took to social media to say: "Trying to watch #AFamilyAffair with #ZacEfron, but I’m way too distracted by whatever he did to his beautiful face."

While another questioned: "What happened to Zac Efron’s face? Did he get a bunch of filler? He looks 50 years up close."

But many of Efron's fans were quick to remind viewers that he had actually been involved in a traumatic accident back in 2013, which resulted in him needing facial surgery.

Efron has previously spoke about the incident himself.

In 2022, he told Men's Health that he was 'running through his house in socks and slipped', which resulted in him hitting his chin on a granite fountain.

Following the incident, Efron said that the masseter muscles - which are located on each side of the jaw - started increasing in size.

"The masseters just grew. They just got really, really big," he explained.

You can watch A Family Affair on Netflix now.
