Viewers are making the same complaint about the newly released Netflix movie Leave The World Behind.
The movie landed on the streaming platform last week and has quickly raced up the most watched list.
Leave the World Behind is based upon the book of the same name by Rumaan Alam and centres on couple Amanda (played by Julia Roberts) and Clay (played by Ethan Hawke) who take their kids Rose and Archie (played by Farrah Mackenzie and Charlie Evans) to a luxurious rental home for a family holiday.

But shortly after the family settle into the rental, the home’s owner G.H. Scott (played by Mahershala Ali) arrives back with his daughter Ruth (played by Myha’la) to escape a bunch of weird goings on in the city.
While the world around them begins to unravel, the two families are forced together as they try to work out the best way to survive.
Although its proving popular on Netflix, Leave the World Behind has firmly divided - not least due to its ending and one ‘plot hole’.

On review aggregator site Rotten Tomatoes it holds a pretty decent score of 75 percent, but this drops significantly - to just 40 percent - when you look at the audience score.
And on X, many viewers had the same criticism: the movie is simply too long.
Leave the World Behind clocks in at just under two-and-a-half hours (141 minutes), which is just too long for some viewers.
In a post on X, one person said: “This movie is waaay too long, don't understand the hype behind it.”

While a third commented: “Leave the World Behind was a long movie with no answers and a stupid ending in case you wanna waste your time watching that.”
Others who enjoyed the film, still commented on how long it was.

A second added: “Leave the World Behind is pretty darn good. Long as hell but it pays off in the suspense.”
And someone else said: “Leave the World Behind is very good but 45 minutes too long.”
If you fancy making your own mind up, Leave the World Behind is currently streaming on Netflix.
