A new Netflix true crime show is the perfect next watch for fans of Mindhunter.
With Mindhunter now entering its fifth year without a third season, and viewers across the board begging for Netflix to lock David Fincher in a room until he does it, fans will have to look elsewhere to find their fix.
This newly released docudrama will be perfect for that.

Whilst Mindhunter is incredibly accurate to the real-life story and interviews, it is still partially fictionalised.
This documentary however is 100% factual and based on interviews with ‘Ireland’s worst serial killer’.

This includes Peaky Blinders actor Ned Dennehy ‘brilliantly’ lip-syncing over actual recordings of the interview in which the serial killer confessed.
The show is called The Nobody Zone: Interview with An Irish Serial Killer, and recalls the twisted confession of Kieran Kelly.
In 1983, Kelly was arrested for stealing a wedding ring, before he proceeded to garrot a fellow prisoner.
Following this, Kelly admitted to police that he had killed ‘dozens’ by pushing them under tube trains in London.

His claims went back 30 years to the 1950s.
His admissions were taped and originally released by a podcast called The Nobody Zone, on which the show is directly based.
Within the doc, the team are able to secure an interview with a retired police superintendent who recalled the interview, Ian Brown.

He said: “Kelly showed his animal cunning I suppose, the fact that he was playing us at times, and he laughs and eventually agrees with you, but he’s had his five minutes of fun with you”.
Robert Mulherene, who wrote a book on Kelly titled Author of The Secret Serial Killer: The True Story of Kieran Kelly, was also interviewed for the show.
He said: “Is Kieran Kelly spinning the police a story? Is he a manipulator? Is Kelly completely mad?

“On the other hand, is he trying to admit crimes that he didn’t commit in order to confuse the police investigation in the hope that his whole story becomes so unreliable that they can’t convict him on any crime.”
Kelly would later be convicted of one count of manslaughter and another of murder, before dying in prison in 2001.
The show was released on Netflix over the weekend, and immediately leapt to number three on the charts, behind only Kaos and Worst Ex Ever.
The Nobody Zone: Interview with An Irish Serial Killer is available on Netflix in the UK and Ireland now.
