No matter how much sport is being shown on telly at the moment or what films have landed at the cinema, chilling on the sofa and binging a bit of Netflix still remains a go-to.
Yeah, sure, the Olympics are great to watch and people are loving Deadpool and Wolverine but sometimes watching something older just hits different.
And fans have been loving Netflix’s recent additions from the cheeky ‘not for prudes’ film to a ‘wtf’ true crime documentary.

But one of the latest films to drop isn’t quite as new as it was initially released back in 2016. That’s not stopping the hype though as people are urged to watch the ‘soul-crushing’ Oscar-winning psychological drama with a 93 percent Rotten Tomatoes score.
Starring Brie Larson and Jacob Tremblay, Room is based on a 2010 book by Emma Donoghue.
It follows a woman and her young son’s introduction to the world after they were held captive in an enclosed space for years.

‘Ma’ (Larson) was kidnapped as a 17-year-old and kept prisoner in a grim shed, thehy named ‘room’. The mum gave birth to Jack (Temblay) while being held by captor and rapist ‘Old Nick’.
The psychological drama received rave reviews when it was released and four Oscar nominations with Larson picking up the award for Best Actress.
She also scooped up Critics’ Choice, Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild awards for her performance in Room.

Released on Netflix at the start of the month, users took to X to say ‘watch it now’ as they hailed it as the Captain Marvel star’s ‘best performance’.
Well-loved by many critics and viewers, the film has a 93 percent rating on both the Tomatometer and Audience Score on Rotten Tomatoes.
One viewer warned: “This movie will stay with you long after the credits roll. Exceptional.”

Others called it ‘powerfully emotional’ as someone else admitted: “I cried… and then I cried some more.”
Another on Google said it’s a ‘spectacular movie’ that’s ‘heart-rending and soul crushing’.
However one Rotten Tomatoes user did say: “I had every expectation that I would love it - perhaps it would be an all-time great for me. So I was crushingly disappointed to find myself mightily underwhelmed by the end of my viewing experience. I could not get involved in the story, I felt nothing for the characters and was frankly a bit bored.”
Room is now available to stream on Netflix now.
