Stephen King urges Netflix users to watch 'amazing' new horror with 'one of best endings'

If the legendary author recommends something in the horror genre, then you have to listen

Stephen King has advised Netflix users to watch this new horror film that he says boasts 'one of the best endings ever'.

Known as the 'King of Horror', if the American author recommends something in the genre, then you'd be a fool not to listen.

The 76-year-old is best known for novels such as It, The Shining and The Green Mile - all of which have been turned into Hollywood blockbuster films.

Though he is still continuing to regularly write and release novels every couple of years, he is managing to find time to read books and clearly, watch an array of TV series' and movies that take his fancy.

The best of these get a shoutout on his X account, which boasts over 7.1 million followers, and that's right, the film in question received this high praise.

Known as a 'creature feature', King has said that it's 'quite good', particularly giving praise to the film's climax.

Released last Wednesday (5 June), the Netflix horror was recommended to him by viewers, and he was pleasantly surprised after relenting and sitting down to watch the one hour and 45 minute movie.

He wrote on X afterward: “I thought Under Paris would be a jokey movie, like Sharknado, but Twitter convinced me to give it a watch, and it’s really quite good. The last 25 minutes were amazing.”

The film is indeed called Under Paris, and you can view the trailer here:

If you saw any of the promo for the film or read its synopsis, then you'd be forgiven for thinking that it was a French take on the ridiculed franchise that is Sharknado.

Based in Paris, the movie describes a 'dangerous beast' ruins the beautiful city, which is 'headed for disaster'.

Yes, it's a giant shark and its attack does coincide with a weekend where there are coincidently a number of swimmers in the Seine, participating in a triathlon.

The Seine is essentially Paris' River Thames, which adds to people ridiculing the film at first glance.

However, the film has been a huge success with Netflix viewers, with some even calling it the 'most terrifying shark movie ever made'.

Directed by Xavier Gens, the concept is made into something dramatic that will leave you on the edge of your seat until the very end, building up to the final 25 minutes.

This climax is what King references, and has scenes and sequences that need to be seen to be believed by horror fans - and it's so good that one viewer called it 'fantastic' and 'one of the best endings I've seen in a while'.

Given the film's huge success, perhaps it may only be a matter of time until an Under Paris 2 is announced.
