A How I Met Your Mother actor has been caught trying to leave the country after allegedly stabbing his girlfriend 20 times.
Nick Pasqual, 34, has been apprehended and placed in a small-town jail in Texas, just 16 miles from the Mexico border after attempting to leave the US prior to his hearing.

LA District Attorney George Gascon has said that the actor will be brought back to California, but a date for him to be transferred has not been set as of yet.
He is currently being held in the Hudspeth County Jail in the remote town of Sierra Blanca, in the country's most southern state.
A spokeswoman for the LA District Attorney's office stated on Tuesday: "The defendant has not been extradited to LA County from Texas. There is no arraignment date scheduled as of today."

Gascon has previously said: "This heinous incident is a stark reminder of the dangers of domestic violence. We will ensure that the individual responsible for this egregious act is held accountable for their actions."
Shehorn has alleged that she has suffered months' of abuse from actor Pasqual and she had a restraining order taken out against him on 18 May.
Pasqual, known for playing college student Will in hit CBS show How I Met Your Mother in a 2011 episode, had become angry at his girlfriend in the early hours of the morning, screaming at her as he was 'under the influence', according to Shehorn.

The makeup artist said: "He slapped me across the face and as I was trying to get away down the hallway, he grabbed my hair and pulled me back and I slammed into the floor hitting the back of my head on the ground."
She says that she tried to hide in the bedroom of Christine White, her 'surrogate mother', who shared the couple's home.
She claimed that he began to threaten her as they called 911, but authorities eventually showed up and arrested him with charges over felony domestic violence according to LAPD records, though he could bond out of jail that same day.

Shehorn is currently recovering from the attack in hospital, but has made good progress, recently being moved out of the ICU.
The latest update on her GoFundMe page to aid her recovery, detailed that she has been 'making positive steps' back to healing physically and mentally from the attack.
Donations for the makeup artist have been flying in since news of the attack broke last week, with more than $110,000 (£86,480) being raised so far.
A hearing over whether the restraining order will be made permanent was scheduled for 11 June in Pasadena, California, while Pasqual was due to appear in court for a felony charge in San Fernando, California on 12 June.
