Fan favourite Obi-Wan Kenobi, played yet again by Ewan McGregor, made a long-awaited return to our screens in May and quickly received critical acclaim.
Season 1 of the Disney plus show has already gained an impressive 83% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and 7.2 stars on IMDB.
Meanwhile, fans have coined this season’s episodes among the best they’ve seen of all the Stars Wars TV shows to date.

Set a decade after the Revenge of the Sith (2005) and nine years before A New Hope (1977), season one follows Obi-Wan as he is hunted by his vengeful former apprentice, Darth Vader, and the Galactic Empire.
During its debut launch weekend, Obi-Wan Kenobi even broke a Disney Plus viewership record, with Disney officially confirming it had become the most watched show on the entire streaming service.

So, Will There Be A Season 2 Of Obi-Wan Kenobi?
Although Obi-Wan Kenobi has not been officially renewed by Disney for season 2, it has been rumoured that it is in the development pipeline.

It has been reported that while more stories about Kenobi can be expected from Disney, it is unclear whether they will be a direct follow up from Season 1.
Changes have reportedly also been made to Obi-Wan Kenobi Season 1 in preparation for further plot exploration and character development - something Disney can clearly see as bait for loyal Star Wars fans, who have remained intrigued throughout McGregor’s portrayal of Obi-Wan’s moral dilemmas this season.

All in all, following the show’s instant popularity and its resounding success for Disney Plus, Obi-Wan Kenobi’s potential renewal will come as no surprise, if and when it does come!
When Will Season 2 Of Obi-Wan Kenobi Be Released?
Considering that filming started for Season 1 in May 2021, fans can expect to wait around a year for Season 2 if it is renewed by Disney.
Season 1’s final episode is due for release this Wednesday 22nd June, and fans are already speculating about a dramatic season finale, with a potential rematch between Obi-Wan and Darth Vader on the cards.
