If you're an Owen Wilson fan, you'll know that the actor frequently says 'wow' in his films, and it's become something of a catchphrase for him.
And now, the Midnight in Paris actor, 54, has explained why he's uttered the word repeatedly since his debut film 1996's Bottle Rocket.
In a video by YouTube fan channel Owenergy, when the actor was asked if there are certain sayings he 'tries to incorporate into movies', he said: "Well yes, but they're for my really committed fans. I throw out a little word, just sort of like a little wink and a nod to them.

"It's like those New Yorker [magazine] covers that the guy would write his wife's name into the illustration.
"If you're lucky enough to be one of those really committed fans, then I give you these little clues that are out there," he added with a laugh.
So, how many times has the actor actually said this famous little word?
Well, Screenrant decided to document this and it was revealed that Wilson says 'wow' in a whopping 27 movies... a total of 81 times.

They've even calculated some fun facts about the actor's use of the word, such as it appearing in 51.9 percent of all his films and the fact that he uses it most in Midnight in Paris (2011), where it appears seven times.
Writer Cooper Hood added of the phenomenon: "Ever since Wilson said 'wow' in his feature film debut in 1996's Bottle Rocket, he has gone on to say the word in 27 different movies.
"This frequency highlights why Wilson is so closely associated with the word, but it becomes even more obvious when the astonishing amount of times he's said 'wow' is factored in.

"In these 27 movies, Wilson says 'wow' a total of 81 times. 2011's Midnight in Paris holds the record for the highest number of 'wow's in a single Wilson movie as he utters it seven times."
Wilson was not wrong when he said that his fans loved him saying wow, and they once organised an event where a large group of them got together to say wow in unison.
It took place in Melbourne, Australia, and was organised by the Owen Wilson fanpage Owen Wilson Wowposting.

Its description read: "Let's put some positivity out there into the world! Let's marvel at the beauty and wonder of this incredible planet we live on, and let's WOW like Owen Wilson!
"Invite your friends! Crashing Weddings is so 2005, so let's crash Fed Square instead!"
We can now only wonder how many wows Wilson will manage to say before he retires from acting.
