However, after watching the new trailer, a lot of fans feel like they've opened their Christmas present early.
If you haven't seen the explosive trailer, but you're ready to hear about it, then here it goes - Ruth appears to shoot and kill Javi.
Now, we all know these show-makers can be very crafty and cunning, leading us down one path before hitting us with a dramatic twist. Perhaps he doesn't die? Perhaps this is just a dream sequence? Who knows?
But in a subsequent snippet, FBI agent Maya appears to tell Marty that he's 'just another criminal' to her now - which seems to suggest it wasn't a dream.

So, if Javi isn't actually dead, they've done a very good job of making it seem like he is.
Fans of the show have taken to Twitter since the release of the trailer, expressing their shock and annoyance at the apparent spoiler:
One fan wrote: "OK…I know they didn't just put a big ass spoiler in this new Ozark trailer, right? This BETTER be a dream sequence or some shit, Netflix.

"If you haven't watched the trailer…don't."
Another added: "Well don't watch the trailer for #Ozark Season 4 Part 2 unless you want a lot of spoilers. Terrible decision. Why @netflix?"
LADbible has contacted Netflix for comment.

First hitting our screens back in 2017, the crime thriller, created by Bill Dubuque and Mark Williams, sees a middle-class US family caught up in a money laundering scheme for a Mexican cartel.
As the show progressed things got even more complicated for the Byrdes, with run-ins with cartel members, numerous murders and an investigation by the FBI.
Jason Bateman stars as accountant Martin 'Marty' Byrde alongside Laura Linney, who plays his wife Wendy, while Julia Garner plays local girl Ruth Langmore.
In the new trailer, Ruth appears to be out for revenge, having lost just about everything she treasured in her life since the Byrdes moved to the titular Ozarks.

Of course, having to wait to find out what happens to the characters has been painful for fans, but executive producer Chris Mundy said that splitting the final season into two parts was the 'perfect' move for the show.
Speaking to The Wrap, he explained: "We always thought five [seasons] was the outside number. It just felt like after that – we didn't want to repeat ourselves, we didn't want the show to feel like it was continuing because it was a TV show and it had to continue.
"So really the decision has always been between is it four [seasons] or is it five [seasons].
"And then Netflix hit upon the idea of saying, 'We'll do four but we'll make it long and split it in this way,' and that felt perfect."
Well, not long to wait now to see if the finale is as perfect as we all hope.
