The first trailer for Umbrella Academy season four has finally dropped.
In bittersweet news for fans, showrunner Steve Blackman has confirmed that this will be the final outing for the Hargreeves siblings.
Blackman said in a statement: “I'm so excited that the incredibly loyal fans of The Umbrella Academy will be able to experience the fitting end to the Hargreeves siblings' journey we began five years ago.

"But before we get to that conclusion, we've got an amazing story ahead for season four, one that will have fans on the edge of their seats until the final minutes."
The show will be returning on 8 August, with a reduced six episodes all releasing simultaneously. Watch the trailer here:
Fans reacted to the trailer to say they're 'not ready to say goodbye' as one put: "I’m so ready for the final season but at the same time not ready at all."

Others also said: "WE ARE SO BACK *we all say in unison*," while another wrote: "What an amazing series."
The Netflix show has been one of the streamer’s big successes since its inception, based on a popular comic book by My Chemical Romance singer Gerard Way and Gabriel Bá.
Season three ended with the siblings stranded in another dimension sans-powers, and having discovered that in this world, their tyrannical father is still alive. Season four sees them scattered, having accepted their new lives as powerless people.
The full family will be returning, with lead Elliot Page joined by Robert Sheehan, Justin H Min, Emmy Raver-Lampman, David Castañeda, Justin H Min, and Merlin star Tom Hopper (no I will not stop talking about Merlin).

The final season releases amid controversy, with showrunner Steve Blackman having been accused by 12 former staffers of misconduct on the show.
The report, released by Rolling Stone, details how writers and support staff accused Blackman of fostering a ‘toxic work environment’, involving ‘bullying’ and ‘sexism’.
They claimed that as well as this, writers were pitted against each other – with Blackman repeatedly taking credit for the ideas of others.

Perhaps the most shocking accusation claims that Blackman once fired a writer for getting pregnant ‘without telling him’.
While Netflix has not yet released a statement, Blackman’s representatives called the accusations ‘completely absurd’.
They said: “These allegations from a handful of disgruntled employees are completely false and outrageous, and in no way reflect the collaborative, respectful, and successful working environment Mr. Blackman has cultivated.”
