Deadloch is a perfectly dark, twisted comedy you need to check out this month.
From the brainchild of Get Krack!n duo Kate McCartney and Kate McLennan, this Prime Video original takes off when a local’s dead body is found in the quiet seaside of the fictional Tasmania town, Deadloch.
The fastidious local senior sergeant Dulcie Collins (Kate Box), senior investigator Eddie, Redcliffe (Madeleine Sami), along with their overeager junior constable Abby (Nina Oyama) are sworn in to investigate.

While trying to figure out what happened to the local, the team discovers that five years ago, Deadloch’s mayor washed up dead on the same beach.
If that weren’t already enough, the detectives must find answers all while the town hosts the Winter Feastival - an annual crafts, culture and cooking festival.
Nothing spices up a community-organised event like a mysterious bloody murder, eh?

However, Deadloch doesn’t just promise endless belly laughs but a meaty crime series set to turn the genre on its head and keep audiences on their toes.
If you haven’t already, watch the trailer below.
This marks the first international project from The Kates, who worked alongside a fantastic ensemble cast of comedy talent, including Tom Ballard, Susie Youssef and Alicia Gardiner.

Deadloch co-creators Kate McCartney and Kate McLennan said ahead of its release: “We are both so thrilled to share the dark, strange little town of Deadloch with the world. We’re particularly excited for everyone to meet Dulcie and Eddie, performed by the powerhouses Kate Box and Madeleine Sami, who are far better actors than we’ll ever be.
“The supporting cast is sublime, the crew are a delight, and the experience of making this story with Prime Video globally on the incredible land of lutruwita (Tasmania) is one we’ll never forget.”
Deadloch will be exclusively released on Prime Video on June 2, with new episodes available every Friday.
So people, if you haven’t signed up for Prime membership yet, just like The Kates, we suggest you get cracking. Start your 30-day trial today.
