Celebrity Big Brother contestant Michael Fabricant has reluctantly addressed why he chooses to wear his infamous blonde wig.
As the former Conservative MP for Lichfield, Fabricant never held a particularly high position during his party's time in power; however the ex-MP of 32 years is still a widely recognisable face in British politics.
And that's all thanks to his unique hairdo.

No matter how many hours you sink into scouring the darkest corners of the internet, you will not find an image of the 74-year-old without his recognisable bottle blonde bowl cut. Even if you go back to his first election to Parliament in the early 1990s you'll only see images of dazzlingly bright blonde staring back at you.

It's almost as if Fabricant has personally purged every image without this very specific hairdo from existence.
Fabricant is also famously reluctant to answer any questions which involve his hair, which means that we've never truly been able to get to the bottom of whether or not he's wearing some sort of wig or toupee.
Until now. As the ex-MP finally, finally addressed the topic during a conversation with EastEnders actor Patsy Palmer during an episode of the ITV reality show.

During a conversation between the pair, Palmer allowed her curiosity (and the nation's) to get the better of her and asked Fabricant: "Michael is there a reason that you wear that? That you wear a wig?"
Fabricant appeared noticeably taken aback by the actor's line of questioning, responding: "I just have always had long blonde hair so I just feel comfortable."
"Yeah, so not because you are bald or..." Palmer quizzed, to which Fabricant responded: "No not particularly no, just because I'm... I don't particularly like talking about it but it's just how I want to be. It's part of me."
The evasiveness mirrors similar responses Fabricant has given in regards to his hair over the years, with the Tory politician never going further than admitting to having 'enhancements' to his hair.

Undeterred by the awkwardness of the conversation, Palmer continued to ask questions about what Fabricant's 'real' hair looked like, to which he remained non-committal about, although he did confirm that his natural hair was absolutely not 'ginger'.
It was later revealed that Fabricant wasn't particularly chuffed about Palmer's decision to grill him about his hair on national television either, as he decided to nominate her for this very reason.
"I really have found this very hard but I'm going to nominate Patsy," he said, before rowing back on his previous confirmation about whether or not his barnet was a wig.

"I'm not saying it is a wig, actually, but what I am saying is I found it slightly awkward being asked about it.

"People have, you know, sensitivities and that's my sensitivity. Look, we're all human. I'm more human than most."
