Rob McElhenney and Kaitlin Olson were on babysitting duty during Wrexham's Vegas tour

Hope they brought a truckload of sun cream to Vegas with them

What do you get when you take a team of footballers from Wales and bring them to warm, sunny Nevada? A whole lot of sunburn.

Co-owner Rob McElhenney and his wife Kaitlin Olson have been on 'Mom and Dad' duty with the title-winning men's Wrexham team after bringing them on a luxury Las Vegas break to celebrate securing a place in League Two for the 2023/24 season.

And while the boys have been in their element during the all-expenses paid trip - complete with lavish dinners and wild club nights - there's a chance they weren't prepared for the heat in the desert.

On one of the days while the lads were kicking back at a beach club, McElhenney and Olson found themselves lathering the sun cream onto the players to protect them from a nasty burn.

Filming his wife and It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia co-star Olson rubbing heaps of suncream onto one of the player's already-red backs, McElhenney wrote: "Mom and Dad made sure the boys didn't burn."

By the looks of the other snaps taken from the Sin City trip, the team have been having the time of their lives - even if their skin has a slight red tint to it now.

Pics from a promotion party saw Wrexham players like Jacob Mendy and Ryan Barnett living it large around the Wet Republic Ultra Pool at the MGM Grand, which, according to Tao Groups Hospitality website, male guests usually pay $40 for a presale ticket.

Then McElhenney and Olson took the team for a luxurious dinner at Wolfgang Puck’s luxurious Spago restaurant, which can approximately cost $100 (£79) per person.

According to WalesOnline, the restaurant went all-out for the team, bringing out an extravagant glass sculpture of the Wrexham AFC club crest to mark their visit.

The boys were also seen at Omnia nightclub, where they met none other than DJ Steve Aoki, who was manning the decks.

Although McElhenney's partner in crime Ryan Reynolds hasn't yet joined the boys on their wild holiday, he has been checking in to make sure they're 'still alive'.

A photo shared by Ollie Palmer's WXM Clothing brand showed the football player on a video call with Reynolds with the caption: "@vancityreynolds checking in this morning to see if his boys are still alive."

It looks like the team are having the time of their lives - and like they're getting a little bit red.

Meanwhile, the Deadpool actor joked on his own Instagram post that the Wrexham boys would be going for a much calmer trip next time.

"Next year, they're going on a five day meditation retreat in the Faroe Islands," Reynolds told his followers.

Doesn't really have the same ring to it, does it?
