'Sandstorm' legend Darude is playing in Australia for NYE and NYD

Attention old school ravers, Gen Zers, and everything in between.

The dance party of your life is coming because Darude is coming to Australia for New Year's Eve and New Year's Day.

Don't know who Darude is? Well, howdy there, fellow kids.

He's the epic DJ behind ‘Sandstorm’, which has a cool 314 million streams on Spotify.

Darude, real name Toni-Ville Henrik Virtanen, dominated the global dance tracks back in the day.

The song sat at number one on the Finnish Dance Chart for 17 weeks straight, was the first top three song in the UK for a Finnish artist, and has been used countless times in pop culture.

Yeah, now you know the one. But, I digress.

To get you in the mood, close your eyes and picture this: you're cutting shapes to the most epic dance track in the history of space and time across the multiverse just as the clock strikes midnight.

Oh, and the sick drop hits exactly at 12.

And that epic song is, of course, 'Sandstorm'.

Sounds like a bit of you? Well, run, don't walk, because this is happening.

Those lucky lads over in Western Australia will get to dance up a storm in precisely the above scenario in Perth for New Year's Eve.

And, I never thought I'd say this, but thank God Australia is so massive.

Thanks to some pretty major time differences from the west, the east and with daylight saving, it means Darude will perform at one NYE show and two New Year's Day events in Brisbane and Melbourne.

Now that's what we call time management.

One fan said on social media: "Yay! You are returning to Australia. Can't wait!"

Another added their two bits worth, sharing a pretty wild GIF as per below, adding: "Darude playing in Thornbury [Melbourne] on New Year's Day. Me coming out of retirement to attend a rave and show these kids how it's done."

One person commented on a YouTube clip from late 2019 to tell the DJ: "I would love to go into 2020 like this."

Well, if that happened it is likely the best thing to have happened that year.
