Following the recent release of the gripping true-crime documentary The Tinder Swindler on Netflix, fans of the show want to know who exactly Simon Leviev is, and where he is now.
According to the synopsis, the documentary follows “a group of women who were the victims of a dating app based swindler join together in an attempt to hunt him down and recover the millions of dollars that were stolen from them.”
So, who is The Tinder Swindler’s Simon Leviev and where is he now?
Who is Simon Leviev?
Simon Leviev is the false identity of Shimon Hayut, born in Bnei Brak, Israel.

Hayut conned women into believing he was Leviev, a well-off jetsetter and the son of Israeli businessman, the “King of Diamonds”, Lev Leviev.
The man in question has no connection to the Leviev family at all, though.
He tricked his victims across Europe via the dating app, living an up-market lifestyle from the money he stole from women.
The fraudster promised his victims he would repay them for their generosity, but deceived them with fake designer watches, invalid cheques and bank transfers which would bounce back.

Hayut was then wanted by the authorities in Israel, Sweden, England, Germany, Denmark and Norway, but not for theft.
It was eventually a fake passport which had him extradited to Israel in July 2019, and he was finally convicted of theft, fraud and forgery.
Where is Simon Leviev now?
Following Simon Leviev, or rather Sjimon Hayut’s counts of theft, fraud and forgery, the fraudulent man was sentenced to 15 months imprisonment.

He was later freed after just five months on good behaviour, and is now a 31-year-old free man in Israel.
He is still living the luxe-life, sharing his envious trips on private jets and supercars under the false name “Simon Leviev”.
It was rumoured that the conman was active once again on Tinder, but a representative of the app denied the rumours to The Sun.

There are also rumours that have surfaced about his current love-life, with the fraudster now dating an Israeli model. It has not yet been confirmed if this is true, though.
