Warning: Contains major Stranger Things spoilers
It would be hard to take in every single little detail of the two-hour Stranger Things finale, but after finishing the Netflix series some fans realised they had completely missed a major death.
The final two episodes of Stranger Things series four arrived on Friday (1 July), after which millions of people across the globe made it a priority to hunker down on the sofa, grab a cushion to hide behind and hit play on Chapters Eight and Nine.

Both stars of the show and the writers had previously revealed there would be a body count in the final episodes, so while harrowing to watch it wasn't necessarily surprising when Vecna started to take out his victims, starting with Chrissy and Fred in Volume One.
In a bid to open a total of four gates to the upside down, Vecna went after Max while she and Lucas were in his old home. Fans will know his infiltration of her mind was all part of a plan cooked up by the pair along with Steve, Nancy, Dustin, Robin and Erica, but things went awry when jock Jason Carver arrived on the scene, desperate to avenge Chrissy.
His interruption meant Lucas wasn't able to use Kate Bush to draw Max out of her trance, and Vecna ultimately succeeded in opening his final gate and sending a rift through Hawkins.

After watching the finale some fans were surprised to hear Jason was among those who fell victim to Vecna's evil actions, having apparently last seen him fighting Lucas in the Creel home.
Having later heard about his death, one Netflix user wrote: "Wait when did Jason die ???????? How did I miss that."
Another commented: "DID I MISS SOMETHING?? WHEN THE HELL DID JASON DIE?"
The basketball player's death takes place in an instant and is easy to miss amid the chaos, but comes as Vecna's gates begin to tear through Hawkins and connect with one another in a menacing, glowing red cross.

Jason is unfortunately lying right in the path of the gates, meaning he gets ripped in two and disintegrates as the upside down begins to take over.
It later emerges Jason is one of a number of Hawkins residents to have died or gone missing as a result of Vecna's actions, but we'll have to wait until series five to see exactly what the villain has planned for Hawkins now he's got the gates open.
