What Is Sue Barker's Net Worth In 2022?

What Is Sue Barker's Net Worth In 2022?

Former tennis player Sue Barker is hosting Wimbledon 2022, but what is her net worth?

As Wimbledon 2022 comes into full swing, Sue Barker (66) will soon walk onto centre court for the last time as her confirmed retirement from presenting the tennis competition awaits her at the end of this season.

Barker's been presenting the tournament for the BBC for nearly 30 years, and fans will no doubt miss her kind and enthusiastic interviewing style, as she passes the baton over to Annabel Kroft, Johanna Konta, among others, who will join her to deliver all the highlights in her final year.

After a stellar 50-year career across Tennis and Television, what is Sue Barker’s net worth in 2022?

Sue Barker Net Worth:

According to Celebrity Net Worth, Sue Barker has an estimated net worth of $2 Million, as of 2022.

Whilst it doesn't reflect all of Barker's projects and earnings, the BBC’s 2019-20 annual report also tells us she collected a huge £200,000-£204,999 for her presenting gigs with the broadcaster that year.

Before starting her career as a presenter with Australia’s Channel 7 in 1985, Barker was a pro tennis player, reaching her biggest achievement at just twenty, when she won the 1976 French Open.

She reached the Australian Open and Wimbledon semi-finals the following year, before carrying out a steady career in both singles and doubles tennis until her retirement in 1984.

Her departure from the sport was soon followed by a debut into TV broadcasting.

After her inaugural post on Channel 7, Barker moved home to anchor Tennis coverage for British Sky Broadcasting in 1990. She then took on her magnum opus in 1994, when named as the replacement for Harry Carpenter on the BBC’s show Today at Wimbledon, covering the two-week tournament each summer.

Her expertise have since extended to other household tennis tournaments, as she has hosted BBC Sport’s coverage of the Australian Open, the French Open, the Davis Cup, and the ATP World Tour Finals, to name a few.

Those who may not see themselves as diehard tennis fans will most likely recognise her as the long-running presenter of the BBC’s A Question of Sport, which she led from 1997 until 2020.

In 2021, she was awarded a CBE for her services to broadcasting and charity, to join her MBE and OBE which she received in 2000 and 2016, respectively.

Barker and her husband Lance Tankard currently live in Stanton, Gloucestershire.

Soon after purchasing their £1 Million home, the couple realised it needed some tweaking, as the ceilings were reportedly accommodating to Tankard’s tall build.

In 2017, they won a planning permission bid with Tewkesbury Borough Council to raise their roof by 5ft, despite much protest from neighbours who were much too fond of their view.
