Tara Reid has spoken out about her decision to not get married and have kids and believes it may have had a negative impact on her career.
The 47-year-old star was open about the pressures she felt to start a family and get married.
She also believes she would have had a ‘bigger’ career if she’d have opted to go down that route.

Speaking in a recent interview with Derek Warburton for Mr. Warburton Magazine, which was shared by Page Six, the American Pie star said that if you opt out of having kids and getting hitched, ‘you’re judged’.
“I’m not married, I don’t have kids … and I think, in Hollywood, if you don’t have kids or you’re not married, you’re judged,” Reid said. “So they still think you’re that party girl from 40 years ago.
“But all of a sudden, if you have a kid and you get married, ‘Oh she grew up, she’s great’.”
Reid believes that she’s been unable to shake her reputation for being a ‘bad girl’ because she hasn’t had children or tied the knot.

Hitting out at the societal pressures women are placed under to have children, she went on: “What if you can’t have kids or what if you don’t want to get married?
“You can’t judge people on that anymore. And it’s the one thing that I think is really unfair about our society.”
Reid then went on to say that, personally she’s open to the idea of becoming a wife or mum, but urged people to back off and give her some privacy when it comes to such a delicate matter.

“If it’s meant to happen, it will happen but you can’t keep dragging people’s face in it,” she told the publication.
“Like get over it, there are other things to talk about. I think people need to leave privacy alone when it comes to that degree of personal stuff.”
Reid says she felt punished by the media due to her fondness for ‘popping bottles and having a great time’ - despite never actually doing anything wrong.

“I never even got a speeding ticket,” she said.
Back in June 2021, Reid revealed that she had chosen to have her eggs frozen so there was ‘definitely the potential’ of having kids one day - however, she didn’t seem so sure if it was something she wanted, telling journalist Allison Kugel ‘it’s not a no, and it’s not a yes’.
"If it is meant to be, it will happen. If not, I’m very comfortable where I’m at.” she said.
