A second GTA 6 trailer is commonly expected to be on the cards before the game itself is released, with many tying the new clip of the Rockstar video game to the long-awaited release date.
But hopes of a March release date for the fabled second trailer seem to have gone up in smoke after the latest theory passed us by without any announcement from the developers of Grand Theft Auto VI. It's another blow to fans who haven't had an update on the game since the debut trailer was released to YouTube way back in December 2023.
It seems that wider hopes will never die on the matter, though, with a new trailer release theory already hitting the shelves and 'making sense' to fans. As for what the feeling inside the gaming industry is, well, the window is 'narrowing' that's for sure.

And it gives Rockstar little wriggle room now to actually produce the goods. That's according to to the GTA VI O'Clock newsletter, which is put together by veteran games journalist Dan Dawkins and award-winning executive producer James Jarvis.
Sent out every week, Dawkins and Jarvis add some much needed calm to the storm you find on places like Reddit and X (formerly Twitter).
In their latest newsletter on Thursday (27 March), the duo looked at what we could expect the second trailer.
For them, it's now simple. The gaming industry believes Rockstar will put the game out in the autumn of 2025 as planned; it's why other rival games are avoiding a release in these months.

But as for exactly 'when'? A feeling of absolutely no clue resonates.
"I was at an industry gathering last night and about five people in marketing and publishing roles openly ruminated about GTA 6’s release date," they write.
"There’s a genuine sense that nobody knows and is being sent to events to soft-sound out competitors and potential sources."
Dawkins and Jarvis previously hinted we might get the second trailer by early April, which is now very soon, based off of Rockstar going 'active' on marketing campaigns around six months before we can buy them.

Knowing that their April window is now very much here, it led them to thinking about the issue in a bit more detail, comparing it to 2013's GTA 5.
"GTA 5’s Trailer 2, for what it’s worth, was announced on November 5, 2012 (as were pre-orders), then released on November 14," they write.
"That’s a nine day gap, which would mean that if GTA 6 Trailer 2 got announced today (27 March), we wouldn’t be watching it until 5 April (if history repeated). And no, I don’t think they’re releasing the trailer on a Saturday… so we’re already looking at Tuesday, 8 April. Or later. Or much later. You get the idea."

For them, late April is now the cut off point based off of previous company marketing strategy and the autumn release date.
That's because the next earnings call by Rockstar parent company Take-Two Interactive takes place on 15 May. And given the money tied up in this, they will need to give some clearer timeframe - or push it back. Gulp.
