If you’re the family member of any actor, it can be awkward.
Whether it be a spouse who has to watch their partner kiss someone else, a parent watching their child commit violent acts, or simply any family member watching anyone do quite literally anything in The Boys – being the family member of an actor is sometimes rough.
In the case of Cameron Crovetti, this is doubled, because not only is he a star of The Boys, but he is only 16-years-old.

Crovetti plays Ryan, the son of Homelander and Billy Butcher’s late wife, Becca.
Whilst his scenes never get worse than someone being splattered against a wall whilst he tests out his new powers (which for The Boys is small fry), it still leaves an awkward conundrum.
How does a 16-year-old show their family the show they star in when it’s full of sex and gore?

That is something that Crovetti has been jokingly posting about, but in particular from two episodes this season.
The first centres around the sauna scene from episode two, which was so X-Rated and disgusting it was fully censored in India.
Crovetti posted about watching the new episode with his family, before cutting to his traumatised-looking face.

Recent episodes have somehow found ways to even up the ante from previous ones though, with insane scenes in each of the last few episodes.
The Boys infiltrated a Vought Supe 'Tek Knight' fundraiser in last week's episode, 'Dirty Business'.
It is full of sexual content, with Hughie accidentally ending up in a threesome with Ashley and Tek Knight while undercover.
Crovetti posted a TikTok about showing his grandparents the episode, before jokingly showing them leaving him afterwards.
Whilst the video is undeniably tongue-in-cheek, the sentiment behind the idea of Crovetti showing his grandparents the show is a bizarre concept.

The scene that likely would’ve caused the most discomfort involves Hughie’s undercover sexual mishap.
Hughie infiltrates the gala as Tek Knight’s sidekick Web Weaver – a parody of Spider-Man.
Whilst no one knows why Web Weaver has an invite to such a private party, it becomes clear when Tek Knight invites him down into his sex dungeon and ties him up, where Hughie is essentially sexually assaulted.

The scene is played for laughs by creator Eric Kripke, who has said he found it ‘hilarious’ - something that has been highly criticised by the internet.
Many fans reacted furiously to the lack of tact, especially when compared to the far more considerate approach to Starlight’s sexual assault storyline.
One commented on Reddit, saying: ‘It was really f**king uncomfortable to watch’, whilst another commented: “The Hughie Tek Knight scene was a little too much for the sake of nothing.”
