It feels like every show has just released a new season right now. And I can’t get enough.
Sure, I’ll happily say I’m ‘too busy’ to go for a drink with my mate’s mates and instead binge watch the new episodes.
So why not add another show into the growing list? Because this one’s got viewers shook.
A new spin-off to The Boys, this recent release on Amazon Prime Video has viewers ‘feeling faint’ fast.

Gen V expands the universe to Godolkin university, a high-end superhero-only college where they train to be, well, the next generation of superheroes.
Except with an age 18 rating, this isn’t exactly Sky High, it’s way darker.
A press release from Amazon Studios reads: “As the students vie for popularity and good grades, it’s clear that the stakes are much higher when superpowers are involved.
“When the group of young supes discover that something bigger and sinister is going on at school, they're put to the test: Will they be the heroes or the villains of their stories?”

The cast includes Jaz Sinclair and Patrick Schwarzenegger as well as appearances from Jessie T. Usher, Colby Minifie, Claudia Doumit and P.J. Byrne reprising their roles from The Boys.
And as I said, with the age 18 rating, some of the scenes are a lot. Particularly the first scene.
You might want to stop reading now if you want to avoid spoilers for Gen V's shocking first few minutes.

The show opens with a flashback to Maria Moreau (Sinclair) getting her first period, which is also unfortunately when her powers to control blood manifest for the first time.
When her parents come to check on her, she accidentally transforms her menstrual blood into blades, killing them both. Yikes.
Viewers were certainly shook. One wrote on X: “Sorry but the first scene of Gen V almost made me faint, way too much [blood emoji].”
Others called the first scene ‘WILD’ and one put: “GEN V FIRST SCENE OH IM HOOKED.”

Another joked: “I need to talk to the writers of The Boys universe because everything can’t be ok in their minds lol, that first scene of Gen V.”
Many echoed: “Just started episode 1 of Gen V and eyooooooo what the f**k is that first scene broooo.”
And one put: “THEY GOT ME SHOOK WITH THIS FIRST SCENE AGAIN MAN! Gen V is f**king insane 90 seconds in.”

The new series is yet to have an audience score on Rotten Tomatoes, but it’s already impressively Certified Fresh with a current critics' rating of 95 percent on the Tomatometer.
