According to The Sun, there has been no explanation behind why the singer has been taken to hospital.
In November, MacGowan was seen using a wheelchair while attending his own art exhibition.
In 2016, it was also reported the singer broke his pelvis during a fall at home, leaving his knee broken.
He also damaged ligaments in another accident.

MacGowan, along with his band, rose to prominence with their unique style that mixed Irish traditional music with punk rock.
The band is most well known for their Christmas hit ‘Fairytale of New York’, which features Kirsty McColl.
However, The Pogues also had many other hit songs over their career.
Most recently, MacGowan left fans quite concerned after emerging on TikTok, with many believing the former rockstar looked frail.
The 64-year-old made his introduction to the social media app seated in a chair while seemingly shaking with slurred speech.
