A man who was sacked from work over his computer search history has issued a warning to others about making the same mistakes he did.
When Josh Williams was called into his boss' office ahead of a holiday to Turkey he had no idea that he was about to lose his job for his rogue internet searches.
Williams had been working as a customer service administrator for three months when he was dismissed from the role for googling stuff such as ‘Simon Cowell botched botox’ and ‘does Turkey teeth hurt’. The 26-year-old also admitted he'd taken sick days for 'bloody stupid' reasons such as using nasal tanners.

Which we can imagine didn't go down too well with his employers.
"I was still on probationary period [in the job I was sacked from]. I had two or three sick days and the excuses I used were just bloody stupid excuses," he explained in the initial video.
"It had come to the point where the workload for myself just wasn't enough for me. I just didn't have any work given to me so I found myself googling on the company computer."

After finding himself without a job and with no savings - he'd put all his cash on the Turkey trip - Williams then shared his experience on TikTok.
However this has since backfired for him as well, because future employers also don't look too fondly on this sort of behaviour.
"As some of you might be aware, I lost my job a month ago through my own doing," Williams explained in a follow-up video.
He continued: "One thing I've learnt from that is, digital footprint is a thing."

Williams then went on to explain that he'd applied for 'three office jobs' in the following weeks, but was unfortunately turned down for all of them after a hiring manager had seen the original video.
He then went on to share his regrets about posting the videos and urged others to think twice about what they share about themselves online, adding: "Genuinely if I could go back and not post it I probably would've done that.
"The consequence of me doing this is that I've had to do a complete 360 turn in terms of my own career and I'm now doing something that I never in a million years thought I'd be doing."

Reflecting on his future relationship with social media, Williams added: "I love oversharing and talking to a camera... but now I've realised maybe not air so much stuff on the online.
"I'm just going to keep anything work related off of here."
Let that be a lesson to you all, hiring managers definitely know what TikTok is and they're definitely checking for any red flags in your online content.
