Tattoos are for life, so it's wise to think carefully about what you're getting before you let the ink touch your skin.
Whether you're all in and want a full sleeve of Nordic Gods or something quaint like your child's initials, they will be there until your dying day. You can of course get them removed but in many cases it's not an easy - or cheap - thing to get sorted.
Over on TikTok, one user has revealed how mortified she was after getting a matching tattoo with one of her mates.

The problem was that it was quickly compared to something very, very different when seen without her mate next to her.
The TikToker, called Anicole (@lanicole001), shared an embarrassing clip with her head in her hands after she had visited her local tattoo shop with her friend for the friendship ink.
Sadly for the pair of them, it didn't go to plan.

Getting a butterfly in two halves, one on each person's arm, the tattoos came together to cutely form a really sweet image.
But sadly for Anicole, when not next to her mate, the butterfly that she and her friend had half drawn on to each other looked rather not safe for work, as the below video shows:
Yep, instead of a butterfly she was left with a 'limp d**k'.

Sadly for Anicole, her unwanted discovery happened only after the ink had being set in to her skin.
With more than 7.7 million views, 750,000 likes, 11,500 bookmarks and 8,200 comments, its fair to say its become a life lesson for many out there about double - and triple - checking the design you're getting before going under the needle.
Responding, one TikTok user joked: "Is this a prison tattoo?"

A second added: "Whoever did this knew. They knew."
Another wrote: "This is an 'oh honey bless your heart' moment."
And a fourth simply posted: "HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA."

Others were more sympathetic and offered ways Anicole might be able to quickly fix the design.
Some suggested simply getting the other half of the butterfly added to her own arm, with her friend getting the same.
"As long as both has the same tattoo, I think that will work too," one said.
Another suggested getting colour work, saying: "Easy fix, go add colour and line work to the wings to make it look as intended."
