Ever since Spider-Man: No Way Home saw stars of previous incarnations of the web-slinging superhero meet one another in the multiverse, there has been a load of chat about whether Tobey Maguire and – more likely – Andrew Garfield could ever return to the famous blue and red costume.

Whilst Garfield’s The Amazing Spider-Man films received some pretty lukewarm reviews at the hands of the reviewers, most people were in agreement that his performance as Peter Parker was decent.
Now, after he and Maguire appeared in the film series that Tom Holland has made his own, it seems as if Garfield has impressed the latest upstart to take the role of Spidey.
Holland gave an interview with ComicBook.com at a press event ahead of his latest release Uncharted, and he said that he’d love to share the wealth and see Garfield star in more standalone Amazing series films.

Holland said: "I would love to see The Amazing Spider-Man 3,
"I think what was so wonderful was how Andrew was able to kind of make amends with the character and the studio, you know, to kind of win the general public back."
Garfield made two films in that series before the slide in audiences ended it – seemingly – for good.
After that, Sony and Marvel decided to form an uneasy alliance to create the latest films with Holland at the fore.

But, with this new reappraisal of Garfield’s role, could we now see the Amazing series return once more?
There were originally plans to have Garfield’s Spidey take on the Sinister Six, as well as dealing with the loss of Gwen Stacy, who was played by Emma Stone.
That never got resolved, until the latest film in which Garfield’s Spider-Man saved the falling MJ, played by Zendaya.

Holland continued: "That scene where he saved Zendaya, like the fan reactions in the theatre, was so spectacular,
"So, should Sony decide to do that? They would have my full support, and obviously, so would Andrew."
Of course, this is all just speculation, but when the star of the current – and wildly successful – franchise is mooting a potential future film, you’ve got to think that there is a real chance that it could happen, right?
He’s also said that he’d be up for working with Maguire again, so the sun might not quite have set on the age of the three Spider-Men.
