Legit born-and-bred Scotsman Alan Cumming has been roasted online over what people are convinced is a 'fake' Scottish accent.
Honestly, it's bad enough that non-Scottish people apparently can't help but try to imitate the accent whenever they come across an actual Scottish person - can we not just accept that it exists and move on?
Hear the Scot in action below:
Cumming found himself at the centre of attention on Twitter this week following the premier of the US version of the game show The Traitors on Friday (13 January).

The series dropped just a few weeks after the UK version took the country by storm with its murder-mystery-style plot, with 20 brand new cast members made up of a mixture of celebrities and civilians.
Some of the recognisable Americans on the show include TV personalities Arie Luyendyk Jr., from Arizona; Brandi Glanville, from California; and Kate Chastain, from Florida.
Alongside the celebs, civilians who have entered the castle include nurse Amanda Clark, hairdresser Anjelica Conti and yoga instructor Azra Valani.
Actor Cumming acts as host for the US version of the show, and you might recognise him for his credits in Spy Kids, X-Men 2, Burlesque, The Good Wife or Doctor Who.

The 57-year-old has decades of experience under his belt, and was just trying to do his job by introducing the cast to the Traitors castle when viewers became distracted by his voice.
Admittedly it probably doesn't help that Cumming has previously played characters which very much don't have a Scottish accent, but hearing what is apparently meant to be his real voice just proved too much for some viewers.
As I've mentioned, Cumming is actually Scottish, but on Friday some fans claimed that he just seemed suspiciously Scottish.

"Five minutes into The Traitors US and the real traitor is Alan Cumming's accent," one fan wrote. "It's McCuckoo-Bananas. He's amped the Scottishness all the way up to 'Shrek'. I've never heard anything like it."
"Alan Cumming has turned his Scottish accent up so eccentrically for this gig," another commented.
Some viewers came to Cumming's defence and argued that's actually just his normal voice, but others refused to believe it entirely, branding it fake.

One tweet reads: "Watching the traitors US and why does Alan Cummings [sic] sound like someone doing a bad fake scottish accent," while another says: "Love LOVE Alan Cumming and I know he’s Scottish but why does he sound like he’s putting on a Scottish accent on."
There's a lot more of Cumming's accent to come as the series unfolds, so buckle in!
