Jaden Smith has spoken out after what can only be described as an eventful night for his dad.
Not only did Will Smith bag his first ever Oscar at tonight's (March 28) Academy Awards ceremony, but he also slapped Chris Rock in the face.
Taking to Twitter, Jaden, who had been in the audience, posted a tweet saying, "And That's How We Do It" before following up with a picture of himself alongside the caption: "My Dads Speech Made Me Cry." He's since deleted the second tweet.
Whether he's talking about the fact that his dad made movie history by winning the Best Actor accolade for his leading role in King Richard, or the fact that he confronted Rock for insulting his mum is yet to be seen.
Earlier in the night, Rock made a joke about Smith's wife Jada Pinkett Smith, suggesting she looked like 'GI Jane'.
This didn't go down well with the Fresh Prince star, who caused a stir by walking up to Rock and seemingly landing a slap on his face.
"Will Smith just smacked the s**t out of me," said the 57-year-old comedian, seemingly rattled by the confrontation.
Although Smith initially appeared amused, he then repeated angrily to Rock, "Keep my wife's name out your f**king mouth."
Chris awkwardly attempted to segue into the next segment, but not before saying, "That was the greatest night in the history of television."
While there's been much debate over whether the whole thing was staged or not, a slo-mo video shared on Twitter taken from a different angle at least confirms that the slap was real.
Shortly after, a clip emerged showing Smith being consoled by Denzel Washington and Tyler Perry.
The Hollywood Reporter's Scott Feinberg shared the footage, writing: "During the commercial break, Will Smith is pulled aside and comforted by Denzel Washington and Tyler Perry, who motion for him to brush it off.
"Will appears to wipe tears from his eyes as he sits back down with Jada, with Denzel comforting Jada and Will's rep by his side."
When Smith took to the stage to accept his Academy Award, he addressed the incident while also revealing the wise words given to him by Washington.
"Denzel said to me a few minutes ago, he said, 'At your highest moment, be careful. That's when the devil comes for you'," he said.
As commented by one viewer on Twitter, "Only Denzel Washington could turn a chaotic moment and career low for Will Smith into a beautiful moment. That man is the GOAT."
A second commented: "All the Oscar's did tonight was remind me how much I love Denzel Washington."
