Benidorm singer Asa Elliott has revealed how much he made for his singing during the show's 2010 Christmas special - and the amount will actually surprise you.
For those of you unfamiliar with the comings and goings at the Hotel Solana, Elliott made his first appearance as a talent show hopeful, where he was told rather bluntly by Madge Harvey (Sheila Reid) that his performance was 's***e'.
However Elliott managed to save his performance and would later reappear as a recurring character during seasons five and six.

Now when it comes to the question of how lucrative being a supporting character on a TV show is, success rates can vary by show and how well your name is known.
However you'd imagine that production would at least make it worth your while to travel out, which definitely happened in Elliott's case.
Sharing details about his Benidorm experience on TikTok, the singer has recently been answering a series of questions on how he managed to land a part on the show - including how much he was paid for his serenading the punters of Neptune's Bar.

Responding the the question, Elliott recalled: "It changed over the different series' when I became a regular character but I do remember how much I got for my first episode which was the Christmas special.
He went on to explain that series writer and creator Derren Litten initially approached him with the offer before receiving his contract. Elliott added that he wasn't with an agent at the time 'so there was no negotiating', revealing that casting producers instead told him it was a yes or no answer to the role.
"It was 'this is how much, do you want to do it?'" Elliot explained.

"And that amount was £750 quid."
Now £750 might not be enough to live the A-lister lifestyle or pay off your mortgage but it's a pretty tidy sum for a few days in the sun and a cameo on the telly. Especially when you consider that the appearance most likely led to Elliott making recurring appearances throughout the next couple of seasons.
Going into more detail about his time filming, he continued: "They flew me from Manchester, put me in a hotel [and] they did all the transfers, all the food.

"I was filming for one day, it was two minutes worth of screen-time and I got £750 quid.
"That was just a one-off contract, there was no royalties, no repeat fees, nothing like that," he added.
"It was a nice amount of money to do a very little amount of work."
Elliott's followers also seemed to be in agreement about his fee as well, with one person writing: "£750 for a day's work and sort of a free holiday is pretty decent."
