The first teaser trailer for the highly-anticipated Harry Potter has been released, showing off what we can expect from the magical world of Hogwarts now it's in TV form.
Fans of the beloved book series penned by JK Rowling are being treated to another adaptation of her work, only this time, it's on telly rather than the big screens.
Yesterday (24 March), HBO released a first-look image at the series, showing the iconic character at the centre of the story sporting his Quidditch gear with Hogwarts in the background.
He will be played by Dominic McLaughlin, who spoke recently about the ‘insane’ experience of receiving a letter from Daniel Radcliffe.

Joining McLaughlin as the core trio will be Arabella Stanton, playing Hermione, and Alastair Stout, taking over the role of Ron Weasley.
Now, we've got a good idea of what these mini versions of Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson look like in action, as the first official trailer has now dropped.
It was also revealed that the first edition of the series - Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone - will be premiering in December this year.
Check out the trailer below:
The two-minute clip was shared on social media on Wednesday (25 March) evening, alongside the caption: "A new era of Hogwarts begins. The HBO Original series Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone premieres this Christmas."
What we now know from the HBO Harry Potter trailer
While we don't get a proper view of the iconic platform nine-and-three-quarters during the trailer, one of the key details we do get a look at is Harry at a Muggle school, giving fans a glimpse into previously unseen parts of his childhood.
The trailer also gave fans a good look at Hogwarts, the sorting hat and even Ollivander as well as a first look at Uncle Vernon and Aunt Petunia, who are seen taunting Harry, telling him he's 'nothing special'.
And of course, we finally get to see all the main cast in action - including Professor Snape, Dumbledore, Professor McGonagall, Draco Malfoy, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger.

Fans were elated to finally get a glimpse of what the HBO series will include - and it seems that so far, the majority of people like what they see.
One commented: "OMG I CANT WAIT!"
Another said: "Eeeeek!!! This is going to be so good!!!!"
A third added: "This is so good! I can’t wait to finally see the parts and details from the book that were left out. Can't wait!"
'Looks like the Temu version of Harry Potter'
However, there were a few people who said they weren't very impressed by the trailer, as one joked: "This looks like the Temu version of Harry Potter."
A second said: "No one asked for this. Looks like you put the OG through AI."
And a third chimed in: "And why do we need this?"
As I'm sure you can tell, there's been something of a debate surrounding the 'need' for another Harry Potter production.
After the upcoming TV reboot was announced, many questioned why, suggesting that the original set of films was surely as good as it is going to get.

However, there were a ton of Potterheads who were buzzing by the idea of a return to the wizarding world.
"I like this design way more than the old one," one super fan said. "This looks so cool."
"Complain about reboots all you want, but this is going to raise a whole new generation of Potterheads and that makes my younger self so happy," another diehard viewer said.
The show’s announcement of new cast members has been plagued by questions about JK Rowling’s previous transphobic statement, having purposely misgendered trans women and stated she would rather go to prison than use a trans person's correct pronouns.
John Lithgow, who plays Dumbledore in the series, has stated that he almost quit the series over JK Rowling's views, saying in an interview with the New York Times: "Every interview I will ever do for the rest of my life, this will come up."

He stated that, whilst he does not align with Rowling's 'gender-critical' stance on Transgender rights, he added that the books are 'clearly on the side of the angels, against intolerance and bigotry'.
In an interview with the Observer, Nick Frost, who is set to play Hagrid in the upcoming TV reboot, said of JK Rowling's views: "She's allowed her opinion, and I'm allowed mine, they just don't align in any way, shape or form."
The actor pushed back on suggestions that the debate around Rowling could overshadow the upcoming TV series, saying: "But maybe it shouldn't blow over? We shouldn't just hope it will go away because it makes it easier.
"Maybe we should educate ourselves."
