I'm sure most of us can fondly recall rushing home from school to catch an afternoon episode of Horrid Henry.
As well as providing inspiration for childish pranks to pull on our mates and mic-dropping one liners to unleash on the playground, the cartoon character also encouraged us to live life on the wild side.
Plenty of parents across the UK quickly put a stop to their childs Horrid Henry marathon sessions after their kids started to replicate the behaviour of the naughty little kid who doesn't believe in authority.

Whether it was putting Moody Margaret in her place, terrorising his teachers, misbehaving for a babysitter or picking on his little brother Perfect Peter, this little lad got up to all sorts of mischief.
Henry was very 'me against the world' vibes, hence why his behaviour was deemed so 'horrid' by his peers, but have you ever stopped and wondered why he acted out this way?
Well, a lot of social media users have, hence why an intense nature vs nurture debate about the cartoon kid's upbringing is currently unfolding on X.

Diehard fans of the CITV show are all grown up now and view the animated series a lot differently as adults.
A lot of people pointed out there was something sinister going on in the family home after watching a few Horrid Henry clips which have recently resurfaced online.
The main thing which people have taken issue with is the lack of love that the messy haired kid received from his parents, who were imaginatively named Mum and Dad.

One social media user said: "Horrid Henry has horrid parents."
Another added: "The show is called Horrid Henry but every clip I ever see of this show is the kid unexpectedly being the most polite and thoughtful child I’ve ever seen while the parents insult him and starve him."
A third joked: "Been seeing Horrid Henry clips going around and all I can say is: Restraining orders and custody orders ain't enough. I want these two imprisoned."
A fourth commented: "The whole point of Horrid Henry is that Henry isn't actually horrid, his parents are just downright awful.

"Even Moody Margaret, Henry's #1 arch enemy, is concerned with how his parents are treating him."
And a fifth chimed in: "Horrid Henry and all he did was look after his hamster and listen to rock music. Tf is wrong with his parents?"
As you can see, this strange topic really has been dictating a lot of conversations on social media of late and people are now pinning the blame for Henry's behaviour on Mum and Dad.

CITV conspiracy theorists reckon that he was raised in a pretty dysfunctional household, where his parents were 'abusive' to him and openly favoured his little brother, Perfect Peter.
His younger sibling could be just as sneaky when he wanted to be, but obviously never got caught in the act - or even if he did, somehow Henry would be the one who ended up in trouble.
Mum and Dad literally sigh when they see him walk into a room and often fought over who had to look after him, so you can understand why this little boy might have started to act out.
They regularly doled out pretty harsh punishments too, such as banning him from watching the TV or using the computer, and refusing to give him his pocket money.
I mean, how would you feel if you heard, 'Don't be horrid, Henry!', a hundred times a day?
