One of The Inbetweeners stars has revealed his favourite line from the show but it’s not one of his own.
James Buckley is of course well-known for playing the lad with all the ‘friends’, Jay Cartwright, in the Channel 4 sitcom.
I mean, people still refer to him by Jay and the show finished back in 2010 with nearly 10 years since the second film.

The character obviously had a bit of a habit of lying and had various memorable catchphrases – Buckley will never escape ‘bus w**ker’.
But turns out the actor’s favourite line wasn’t one of Jay’s, or one of the other lads.
Instead, it was actually Jay’s loud and brash dad, Terry, played by David Schaal.
The cameo millionaire made the confession on Abbey Clancy and Peter Crouch’s podcast, The Therapy Crouch. Watch here:
Sitting beside his wife, Clair Buckley, the star explained: “There’s a line from The Inbetweeners, this is one of my favourite lines and it is Jay talking to his dad.

“And his dad just goes, ‘Jay, women are like fairground rides, f**king mental.’”
Crouch bursts into laughter whereas Clair didn’t have quite the same level of hysterics.
“That’s it, that’s all it is – that’s the pearls of wisdom,” Buckley continues.
“And I’m just like ‘oh thanks dad.’”

TikTok users said Buckley’s appearance on the podcast is ‘one of the best episodes to date’, branding it ‘hilarious’.
One even wrote: “Nobody would stand a chance with these two pairings on morning TV.”
With another adding: “The podcast crossover I didn’t know I needed. Brilliant.”

Fans of The Inbetweeners were previously baffed to discover a rare clip from the show’s pilot where Buckley didn’t play Jay.
Yep, that’s right, despite now being legendary for the character, the actor originally played Neil.
Apparently, it’s so hard to find anything about the pilot because it’s ‘so reviled by creators they’ve sworn it will never see the light of day’.

And users shared clips of young Buckley as Neil calling it ‘f**king dreadful’.
He previously discussed playing a different character in the pilot, which was 'so bad people weren't allowed to see' it.
Speaking on an episode of the Big Fish with Spencer Matthews podcast, he recalled: "It was looking like it wasn't going to happen. Then I got some news that it was going to be made but they were going to recast it."
Buckley was led to believe he was being left out of the new show, but after some crossed wires he was told the creators specifically wanted him to play Jay.
I mean, you can hardly imagine The Inbetweeners without him.
