The 1% Club left fans scratching their heads over a 'stupidly worded question', which was meant to be one of the easiest ones.
If you’re not familiar with the format, The 1% Club is hosted by Lee Mack on ITV and features 100 contestants in a studio, who are all asked a series of questions which progressively get more and more difficult.
The questions are put together by researchers, and each one is given a ranking based on what percentage of the country could answer it.

For example, for the 90 percent question, it’s said that 90 percent of the country would be able to get it correct.
The aim of the game is to make it to the hallowed 1% Club, whereby you are seen to be the smartest of them all, but people are regularly confused by the questions.
On Saturday's episode, a 90 percent question (so supposedly 'easy') left contestants stumped.

The question was: "Which of these is the largest? A) Circle, B) Triangle, C) Rectangle, or D) Square."
The right answer was C, Rectangle, as it is the longest of the words and therefore the 'largest'.
However, despite the 'easy' ranking, twelve of the contestants fell at the first hurdle, with viewers at home fuming that it was unfair.
One ranted: "'Isn't that a bit of a stupidly worded question? The actual question is 'Which word is the longest?' not 'which shape is the largest?'"

Another added: "That was a brutal 90 percent question to be fair!!!", as someone else agreed: "Rectangle??? Tricky 1st question!!"
Tempers were high, with one viewer confessing: "This has weirdly outraged me… What a poorly worded question!"
"I got it right. But what a poorly worded question," echoed another.

One social media user thinks it's only a matter of time before a contestant complains: "Bit of a silly question. The longest word is rectangle, but a circle has no beginning or end. One day a disgruntled contestant will challenge something like this."
It didn't get easier, as one viewer confessed: "#The1PercentClub is such a humbling show sat at home thinking I could go on this show and then got three questions in a row wrong haha."
Four contestants made it through to the final one percent question, where two managed to solve a code, taking home a cool £46,500 each.
It's not the first time viewers have been confused by a question on the show either, as there was another controversial question in a different episode.

It read: "Without reordering any letters, how many animals appear in the sequence below?"
The sequence was 'PHEASANTORTOISEALION'.
The correct answer was six, but one of the answers caused upset.
Pheasant, tortoise, sealion, lion, seal, and ant were given as the answer, with many people insisting an ant is an insect, not an animal.
Shockingly, all five remaining contestants got the question wrong and were knocked out.
However, because everyone was out, they all passed through to the final question.
