James Buckley has shocked Masterchef viewers with a surprising admission as he began his journey on the show.
No one really knows when Masterchef actually started. Yes, you might find 1990 if you look online, but everyone knows that Masterchef exists outside of the normal rules of time. Masterchef did not begin, it just is and always has been.
The eternal series is now moving into its latest season in its celebrity iteration, where famous faces test their mettle in the kitchen.

Among the names now stepping into the Masterchef kitchen is Buckley, and it's safe to say the star of The Inbetweeners certainly made an impression when he entered the kitchen.
Judge Gregg Wallace had been doing the rounds of the kitchen and chatting with each of the contestants when he stopped to speak to Buckley, who was busy preparing a fancy dish involving prawns and rice.
However, Buckley's claims when he spoke to Wallace left the veteran judge floored.

It started fairly innocuously after the 35-year-old admitted: "I don’t really like anything green."
You could be forgiven for not liking your veggies, although there are lots of ways to make them absolutely delicious. However, it was Buckley's next admission which left Wallace flabbergasted.

The star confided that despite cooking a dish involving rice, he had never actually cooked rice from scratch before - he had only done boil in the bag.
When Wallace asked him if he had cooked it before, he answered bluntly: "No."
Buckley said: "I know it’s really bad, that’s one of the reasons I wanted to come on the show out of shame almost. You can get it in a bag can’t you and put it in a bag."
His blunt answer left Wallace chuckling.

Asked about why he signed up for the show, Buckley told OK!: "I haven’t been in a TV show for about five years, and it’s nice for the missus – it gets me out of the house for a little while.”
And as for his culinary skills, he's worried that they might leave something to be desired, saying: "My wife cooks for me and the kids because she makes sure they’re fed properly and don’t get food poisoning. I love cooking cereal, but even then I get that wrong. The kids say I put too much milk in it."
Buckley went up against presenter Richie Anderson, TV personality Dani Dyer, Gogglebox star Mica Ven, and comedian Marcus Brigstocke.
