Jeremy Clarkson admitted that health issues had left him with ‘just days to live’, something he claims the finale of Clarkson’s Farm will make clear as to why.

The 65-year-old presenter has been very open about his health issues, speaking about them in an interview with The Sunday Times.

In October of last year the former Top Gear star fell ill, requiring an emergency heart operation.

This came after he was rushed to hospital, describing feeling clammy, pins and needles in his left arm, and tightness in his chest.

He eventually required two stents to unblock vital arteries, which led doctors to tell the TV star he’d had days to live if this hadn’t been treated.

In the interview with The Sunday Times, the presenter described going on holiday recently to the Seychelles and trying to dive off a boat.

He said that it turned into more of a ‘belly flop’, before saying: “When I finally reached the beach my lungs were full of water and I realised I can't do it anymore.”

Clarkson later said: “It seems that of the arteries feeding my heart with nourishing blood, one was completely blocked and the second of three was heading that way.”

The presenter admitted to thinking ‘crikey that was close’ regarding his health scare.

In October 2024, the 65-year-old spoke to The Sun, saying: “I'm very grateful to everyone who sent supportive messages but I'm fine.

“I just have to not do any manual labour or dishwasher emptying for the next four years. At least I think that's what the doctor said.”

Clarkson has spoken about the fact that, according to him, it will be obvious from the final episodes of the show why his health scare occurred.

The presenter corrected a fan on X who praised him for his hard work whilst having two stents in his heart, saying: “Actually, my heart went wrong after this series was filmed. And if you watch the last 2 episodes, which come out in early June, you’ll see why.”

Whilst unclear the exact reason for this, if you connect the dots it is clear what Clarkson means.

The fourth season of the show is building towards the opening of Clarkson’s new pub, The Farmer’s Dog.

It opened in August of last year, just two months prior to his health scare, and was undoubtedly a stressful experience.

Clarkson has previously spoken on Instagram about how the opening of the pub was a 's***show', with four-hour queues on the first day leading to fury from local communities, forcing him to have to purchase an overflow car park.

In the video he said: “Everyone's really happy, but behind the scenes... chaos, s***show.”

Regarding the pub’s ‘soft opening’ the day before they officially opened their doors he said: “There have been massive, massive struggles. We quietly opened yesterday, and it was a disaster – and I do mean a disaster.”

Whilst unclear if the too will be directly connected, the stress of the pub's opening certainly can't have helped his heart troubles.

Clarkson’s Farm episode five and six release on Prime Video tomorrow.
